New Crowdfunding Product πTag Launched: Smart Tracking Tag Featuring Color E-Ink Display

This product, named πTag, helps users locate important items like keys or wallets. The πTag smart tag works with iPhones, Android devices, and features a sporty e-ink display. Reportedly compact with long battery life, it supports both Apple's "Find My" network and Google's "Find My Device" functionality.

The selection of tracking devices is steadily expanding, typically falling into two main categories: some devices feature cellular connectivity and GPS modules for standalone location tracking, while more affordable, compact options rely on nearby smartphones for positioning and upload location data to service providers. These latter products are readily available at lower price points on platforms like Amazon.

 πTag offers broad compatibility.

The newly crowdfunded πTag falls under the second category of devices, offering compatibility with both Apple's "Find My" network and Google's "Find My Device" functionality. Its limitation lies in the inability to track items when no compatible devices are nearby, but its advantage is the absence of subscription fees and support for indoor tracking. While its positioning accuracy isn't exceptionally high, the πTag can assist in locating items through its sound-emitting feature.

Smart labels equipped with electronic ink displays

This smart tag weighs approximately 28 grams and measures 62 × 3.6 millimeters. The device features a 1.57-inch e-ink display supporting color visuals and custom images. Its circular e-ink screen remains clearly visible at all times, delivering sharp display quality under any lighting conditions while consuming power only during screen updates. This means your configured images, text, or QR codes can persistently display on the screen for weeks or even months.

E-ink technology features low power consumption, making it particularly suitable for such devices, enabling a battery life of up to 10 months. The built-in 100mAh rechargeable battery design eliminates the need for disposable batteries, aligning with eco-friendly principles. According to the manufacturer, this smart label achieves an IP65 protection rating, offering rain resistance.
